May 22. Graham Tolbert.
“The sun and the water have a way of getting along.” (Brian Randall)

Russell Lake. Calm water. 14 miles. Primitive camping on an island. Human development scarce. Nature’s beauty ubiquitous. Acquisition of knowledge/ better understandings. Myriad of ospreys speckle the blue bird skies. Water sliced by 26 pieces of plastic that oppose the fluid uncertainty. Leaves fluttering as if to flutter the pulses of any onlooker that may appreciate.
These sentence fragments may seem abrupt and random to blog readers. To the members of The Voice of the Rivers team, this is our reality for a beloved and serene day on the water. Our development as team members, students, friends, and individuals has grown exponentially so far, and we all hope to keep growing. We are constantly expanding our understandings of the world around us, the first step to making a difference in our struggling society. Every body of water southward, the water becomes murkier than the last, and clarity is lost. Voice of the Rivers is studying this loss in order to form a strong cornerstone for the future in which we wish to make a difference through telling the truth about our most valuable resource, water. We have had a blast so far, learned quite a bit, and hope to pass on our experiences to others. Today was a good day.
